Please pray for an uneventful trip.

Since the team left my phone has been ringing off the hook with ministry requests. The Lord has had to save me from some embarassing mixups. Last night four different G12 groups thought I would be with each of them at the same time. They put two together and I ministered there from 6:30 to 9:00 PM and then the other two got together and I ministered there until 11:30 PM. After that I went to Sheyka’s and Haaka’s for a bowl of her special soup and then home to rest. I love it!

This morning I awoke to pancakes(!) cooking. Amaa made pancakes and syrup with a bundt cake to boot. What a guy.

This will be my last blog until I get home. Thanks again to all. You have NO idea what your contribution, whether prayer or financial, has done here. I will write in more detail about how incredible the opportunity is to spread the Good News. Pastor Bat is one of the oldest Christians in Mongolia and he accepted Christ around 1991!

May God richly bless you all in abundance!

Pastor Chris

Update...

Dear Loved Ones,

Everyone made it to the plane and as I write this they are probably on the ground in Seattle.

I remain in UB until Friday. My plane leaves at 12:20 AM Friday. I moved from the guest house on Wednesday morning and Amaa and Dogie are sharing their one room apt with me. (They refused to let me sleep on the floor.) Amaa made a wonderful breakfast of eggs, toast, cucumbers, apples, cranberries, jam and tea. He’s quite the host.

Yesterday I continued to get more video of UB and interviews and testimonies. For 8000T, the monks allowed me film inside their Buddhist temple. Inside is an idol that is 50 feet tall, with an altar and other things (see the video) that the people worship, surrounded by hundreds of lesser idols. So sad, but thank God Jesus is in UB!

I was invited to share at a G12 meeting (young men only) last night and I asked the young men if they all worshiped the idol before they knew Jesus. They said, “Yes”. I asked what the idol had done for them. They said, “Nothing”. I asked if Jesus had done anything for them and they all started talking all at once. Pretty exciting to see what a living God can do. I then prayer for them for about 3 hours. Again, many wonderful things, especially deliverance and empowering with the Holy Spirit.

Today I will be filming interviews and testimonies with Pastor Bat, Bold and maybe Shayka. They are all preparing for their Encounter weekend, as well as an English worship service, so tying them down has been difficult. But, they are wonderful to work with and are all trying to help me get this done. Tonight I minister at a combined (Timka and ?) G12 of women only. There is sooooo much need for anointed women to come and minster to these wonderful ladies. Even so, the women allow me to minister to them and are open with their prayer needs. God is meeting them and healing both their bodies and their souls.

Again, please continue to pray for me. When I woke up the next morning after the guys had gone I was alone and had an interesting encounter with a spirit. Not bad, just interesting. I was reminded of strength in numbers, but when God is with you there’s no problem.

Pray for the team as they attempt re-entry into their normal lives. They have much to share. Please hear their hearts as they attempt to impart their experiences.

Blessings to all.

Pastor Chris

[Mike: I purchased a small vacuum cleaner for the studio and purchased two music stands as well.]

Update...

Dear Friends and Loved Ones,

The guys leave “tonight” (12:20AM Tuesday) and I’ll be leaving at 12:20AM Friday morning. The next three days will seem strange without them in the apartment but I’ll be so busy the only time I’ll be there is to sleep.

They’re all out shopping right now for last minute gifts. At 1:00PM we have a birthday party for Amaa, our wonderful pastor friend and guide. At 2:00PM we have a tour of Mondach’s sound equipment factory and then at 4:00PM Mike F., Doug and I are off to pray for someone they know. Then at 6:00PM I think I am ministering at a G12 group and then off to the airport to see the guys off. (Typical day.)

Please pray for the return flights, baggage, health, etc. I think they have a six hour layover in Seoul so pray they can rest properly.

My remaining days here will be filled with filming interviews, stills, fixing power in the studio, ministering at G12 meetings, etc. I will be a very busy guy so I’d appreciate your prayers as well.

The studio is working perfectly. They’ve already mastered three songs and played them at church yesterday. The people were really jazzed.

Ministry has been great. Many healings, deliverance, etc.

After church yesterday we went for a trip to the countryside. It’s totally different than our landscape; it’s more like something out of an old western movie. Lot’s of rock outcroppings, etc. I’ve got video and photos to show everyone.

We were going to eat a traditional Mongolian meal in the countryside but it got too late so we went back to UB to the wonderful Chinese restaurant we eat at last Sunday. Most of what we ate was familiar, but then a plate of ox tongue came. I tried a bite and then our host put a whole serving on my plate. I was already full, but it was so good I ate the whole thing!

Again, everyone is well, strong, rested and healthy. Thank you all for your prayers.

Gotta sign off. I will continue to update throughout the week.

Blessings!

Pastor Chris

Potluck...

03/18/05 09:54 AM Local

Dear Loved Ones,

Yesterday we were invited to a mission Bible College run by Americans. It was like old home week. What a joy to talk about home.

They invited us to share with two classes (about 100 kids) and then pray for them. (The video will bless you.) Mike F., Doug and I shared for about five minutes each and then spent the next hour and a half praying for them. As I said before, the need is so great! We’ve learned that when people go up for prayer they don’t expect you to spend any real time with them; they expect a quick prayer and that’s it. We spend as much time as it takes and they are seeing the results and really appreciate it. Hopefully they’ll do they same for each other after we leave.

After ministry the Americans took us to an authentic Mongolian restaurant. Fabulous food, except yours truly has been fasting a lot since ministry began. I was allowed, though, to order a flavorful vegetable beef broth. Fantastic. The others ate things I can’t pronounce but you’ll recognize them when you see the pic’s. Total price for seven was 31000 T, or about $26.00. (To put that into prespective, the ministry workers make 50000
T per month.)

Mike and the studio guys are working very hard. We found them a 4000 watt 220v to 110v converter/power regulator that will be a big help. It cost 99000 T, which is about $82.00 US.

Today will be spent shopping for things to bring home, trying to find music stands (they have none), going to the studio to observe a local record a horse head fiddle (do a Google), and then I’ll try to hook up with Ron and help him with some family teaching tonight.

Tomorrow is a trip back to the little airport fellowship with our wonderful “guide” Pastor Amaa and then going to the youth worship meeting (basically a Jesus rock out worship blow out!). Sunday is church and then a trip to the countryside.

Monday is “get everything wrapped up” day and then the guys leave after midnight, I think. I will be staying three more days. I’ll be spending my time catching up on video footage and photos. We’ll see what the locals have in mind.

Again, we are all well, fairly well rested and blessed beyond words. Please continue to pray for us and the Mongolian church.

Blessings,

Pastor Chris

And the Beat Goes On...

03/17/05 10:00 AM Local

Dear Loved Ones,

Greetings again in Jesus. We’ve finally found an internet cafe with broadband so we feel like we’ve died and gone to heaven!

For Mike P. it’s been 15 hour days in the studio. For Mike F., Doug and I it’s been hunting for parts, instruments, food, phone cards, etc. and ministry at night. The ministry times have been wonderful; I wish they were all here to fill in their stories.

I know the ladies want all the details. Sorry, but there isn’t enough time to write them all down. The guys are all journaling each day (except me-I’m the world’s worst journaler) so you’ll have rich reading when we get home.

Everyone is well, well fed and rested. The pace here is quite nice compared to what I’m used to. We actually get time to shower, eat, rest, prepare and minister, along with going to the museums, symphony, people’s homes, walking the city. We’re learning the culture, struggling with the language, and hugging anyone who will let us. We’ve discovered that parents do not hug their children except on “holiday” type days so they are starving for hugs. It breaks your heart.

The abuse here is rampant and the wounds go deep. We’re seeing demonstrative deliverance, healings, and an abundance of “wounds of the soul” type healing.

Please pray that we have enough time to accomplish all we need to do. We are getting to many invitations to fulfill them all. We need diplomatic grace.

More later. Gotta run to the Bible College for ministry.

For all the guys,

Blessings,

Pastor Chris

So Much Is Happening...

03/13/2005 7:16PM UB Local

So much has happened it’s hard to write it all.

Every one is doing well; no health issues. We are eating well and have internet access about every two days.

We were invited to a small new church in a very poor area near the airport. I’ll have to let the video discribe it. Wonderful time with wonderful brothers and sisters.

The studio is completely set up and recording begins at 9:00AM tomorrow, Monday. Pastor Bat and his staff are like kids in a candy store. They are so excited they can’t sleep and all they want to do is play with the gear.

We had a fabulous church service this morning. All of us shared, Mike sang a special song and spoke. Then we all ministered to the people for hours. The need here is so great and the people came like a flood. Many healings, deliverance, baptism with the Holy Spirit, inner-type healing, encouragement and many salvations. I got a lot of film. Should be a blast to edit.

After the service we went to the best Chinese restaraunt in UB. Great food, no MSG!

I am writing this from an internet cafe in a dangerous part of town at night. Our escorts are street savvy so we don’t feel uncomfortable.

It’s hard to describe how our hearts have been filled with the love of God for the Mongolian people. Pastor Bat’s vision is so large and the anointing so strong and God is doing incredible things. But, they are also in great need of finances. The average salary in UB is $80-$300, which is quite high compared to the rest of the country. The flat we are staying in is the equivilant of six months wages. We are so blessed!

We need to find some musical instrument gear for the studio in the morning. We have a leadership meeting on Wednesday, another meeting on Thursday, and so it goes. We are also trying to find phone cards so we can call home more often.

I will try to write more tomorrow. Please continue to pray for us and our families.

Blessings!

Pastor Chris

We Made It

We arrived safely in Ulan Bator, on time and with all our gear.
