Since you asked, the header photos are ones I've taken from around the world. There's no specific meaning to size or placement; I just like them.

Safely Home

As a I said below, once in Seoul I was very comfortable knowing I would get home with virtually no problems and I was glad to be correct. No problems (unless you call an unruly two year old four feet from me on a ten hour flight or a very small baby six feet in front of me that needed regular diaper changes, keyword being regular).

The two cherries on my sundae were my bags arriving with me in San Francisco and then asking the Alaska Airlines ticket agent if she could get me on the 11:30 AM flight to Seattle instead of having to wait for the 5:30 PM flight. No sweat. Piece of cake. Five minute fix. Even my bags arrived with me in Seattle. God bless the USA.

Did I mention I love America? I never take things for granted here. Think how cool it is to have your bags arrive with you in Seattle when you only give the airport personnel forty minutes to get them on a stand-by flight in San Francisco. Then in Seattle a free phone is provided under a covered waiting area to call the parking shuttle. The shuttle is there in five minutes and my car is waiting for me when I arrive. I pay with a credit card and I'm on my way home. Does it get any better than that?

Yes, it does. I drive to my daughter Tammi's home and after a big hug I'm playing Wii with my four year old grandson while my son-in-law Joe makes me a curry chicken rice dish (from scratch, not a box). My daughter makes muffins (sorry, from a box, but a healthy box) and then I realize I'm so tired I can't see straight. Now I have to drive myself home so I convince everyone I'll make it OK and I get home.

The only bummer was coming home to an empty house but the reason for that warms my heart. My wife is in Florida with Dana (our youngest) enjoying white, powdered sugar sand beaches and her last time with her until they move back home in a few weeks. Sandy really needed to get away and I was so happy it was someplace warm with someone she loves, even if it wasn't me. :)

Reality returns when I take my mother-in-law to the doctor this morning to hear the news she probably has a cancerour tumor needing a few more tests to confirm. Thank God above He was with us and knows everything before we do. It's all in His hands.

And nothing gets better than that.
