Back home from Nigeria
Thursday, March 11, 2010 After 41 hours of traveling I arrived home, more rested than normal and more blessed than normal. It was a great trip in many ways.
A big thanks to Dr. Greg Romine and his son James for looking out for us so well, and to Glen for his prayers, encouragements and conversation. Pastor Randy Bach arrived a few days ahead of us and thank you Randy for your skilled and sensitive worship leadership.
As many of you know, Nigeria is going through some very difficult times. Most of you heard about the slaughter in Jos and the information continues to come forth about what really happened there. Jos was a long ways away from where we were but the news was just as devastating and shocking.
For security reasons I won't say too much about our accommodations, etc., but needless to say they were superb. We were well protected and taken care of in every way.
Bishop Simeon Okah and his lovely wife and family were again such gracious hosts. We had an incredible meal with them right before we left and greatly appreciated their hospitality. Thank you Bishop!
As we were leaving we took a few minutes to see the new church that Bishop Mike Okonkwo is building in Lagos. When it's done it will seat 30,000 and be the largest, fully air conditioned, arena in Nigeria.
I've posted my pictures and videos on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/pastor-chris . I encourage you to view them.
It's good to be home and look forward to returning to amazing Africa as God wills.
Thank you all for your prayers for me, my family, and for the team.
